Privacy notice

How Canadian Mattress collects, uses and shares personal information on these landing pages, and the choices you have.

Last updated: October 11, 2026

1. Who we are and what this covers

Canadian Mattress is a locally owned Alberta mattress store, in business since 2011, with showrooms in Calgary and Edmonton. This notice covers the landing pages at visit.gotbeds.ca only, the pages our ads link to. Our store website at gotbeds.ca has its own privacy policy, which does not describe these pages.

We handle personal information under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

2. What we collect

When you ask for an offer code by text

When you enter your mobile number to get an offer code, we collect:

  • your mobile phone number
  • the showroom you chose (Calgary or Edmonton), and whether the page was for Calgary, Edmonton or both
  • the offer code shown to you
  • which page you were on and which part of the page you used
  • a random ID for the request, used to match records and avoid counting it twice
  • the visit details listed below

We send this to Basin, our form service. Basin passes it to n8n, an automation service, which texts you the code and the address of the showroom you chose through Twilio, a text message service.

When you tap to call, get directions or email us

We record which action you took, which showroom it was for, the address of the page and the page you came from, the time, and a random device ID this site stores in your browser (cm_device_id) to tell repeat actions apart. When an offer code is revealed, we record the code too. These records do not include your phone number or name. They carry the visit details below.

Visit details carried with each request and action

The Catch Digital tracking script on these pages keeps a record of how you arrived, stored in your browser, and attaches it when you request a code or take one of the actions above:

  • the campaign tags in the link you clicked (UTM source, medium, campaign, content and term), for your first visit and your most recent one
  • ad click identifiers: Google (gclid, gbraid, wbraid, dclid, gclsrc), Meta (fbclid, and the fbc and fbp browser identifiers), Microsoft (msclkid) and LinkedIn (li_fat_id)
  • Google Ads details passed in the link: device type, network, keyword match type and placement
  • the landing page address and title, the address of the current page, the page that referred you, and the times of your first and latest visits
  • how many visits you have made, how long you were engaged on the site, and the pages you viewed with the seconds spent on each
  • your consent status at the time, and the version of the tracking script
  • your PostHog visitor ID and session ID, when PostHog is running (see section 6)

Through the tools in section 4

The analytics and advertising tools collect your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and what you click or tap. Microsoft Clarity and PostHog can also record a replay of your visit (see section 4).

These pages do not ask for your name, email address or payment information.

3. Why we use it

  • To text you the offer code you asked for and the showroom’s address.
  • To learn which ads, pages and offers bring people to our showrooms, so we spend our advertising well.
  • To report a code request to Google Ads and Meta as a conversion, so their systems can show our ads to people more likely to visit.
  • To see how people use these pages and improve them, including testing different versions of a page.
  • To catch duplicate or fake requests.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Service providers outside Canada

Most of the companies in section 4 are outside Canada, mainly in the United States. Personal information collected on these pages may be collected, used, stored or disclosed in the United States and other countries where these companies operate, and may be accessible to courts, law enforcement and national security authorities there under their laws.

To get written information about our policies and practices for service providers outside Canada, or to ask how they collect, use, disclose or store your information for us, contact our Privacy Officer using the details in section 9.

6. Cookies and your consent

The tools in section 4 use cookies and similar browser storage. This site also stores the tracking record described in section 2, the device ID cm_device_id, your region (the tg-tier cookie) and your cookie choice (tg-consent-v1).

Visitors in Canada

There is no cookie banner. Analytics and advertising tools run when you arrive, and you can opt out at any time with Cookie preferences at the bottom of every page.

Visitors in the EU, the UK and some US states

Visitors in the European Union, the United Kingdom and US states that require everyone’s consent to record a communication, visitors whose location cannot be determined, and any browser sending a Global Privacy Control signal see a cookie banner. Analytics and advertising stay off until you accept, subject to the exceptions below.

What your choice controls

  • Google’s tags follow your choice through Google Consent Mode: with analytics or advertising off, they stop using cookies and send Google only limited signals.
  • PostHog starts only when analytics is on. Turning analytics off later stops it and clears what it stored in your browser.
  • The Meta pixels, Microsoft Clarity and Zoho PageSense currently load for every visitor, whatever you choose.
  • For visitors in Canada, the Catch Digital tracking record in section 2 is kept whatever you choose. It stays in your browser and leaves only with a code request or one of the actions in section 2.

7. How long we keep it

  • Code requests and action records (Basin, n8n, Twilio and Website OS): only as long as we reasonably need them for the purposes in section 3, then deleted.
  • Analytics and session replays (Google Analytics, PostHog, Microsoft Clarity, Zoho PageSense): the retention period set in each tool, after which they are deleted automatically.
  • The tracking record and device ID in your browser: until they expire or you clear this site’s data in your browser.

8. Your choices and rights

  • Opt out of analytics and advertising: use Cookie preferences at the bottom of any page (see section 6 for what it controls), or block cookies in your browser.
  • See and correct your information: you can ask what personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. We may ask you to confirm the phone number is yours.
  • Withdraw consent: you can withdraw your consent to our use of your phone number, subject to legal or contractual limits, and ask us to delete it.
  • Complain: contact us first (section 9). You can also complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

We will answer a request within 30 days.
